Cpl is delighted to be partnering with a global Tech client as they embark on establishing a new Mobile Applications Engineering Hub in Cork. This organisation is going through an exciting change by expanding their software solutions to further add value to their growing client base. To assist in the delivery of this significant transformation, the business is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to join the team.
About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager - Mobile Applications, you will contribute to the strategy for native android applications. Working with the wider mobile applications team, you will demonstrate modern software engineering & DevOps best practices.
Specific Responsibilities:
· Drive the critical day-to-day technical team decisions.
· Lead, coach and mentor team members.
· Drive best practices in the team such as code reviews, unit tests, effective use of tools etc.
· Review and audit of mobile applications, and cloud-based systems.
· Actively participate in the creation of an architectural vision for the applications.
· Lead the teams through incrementally realising that vision.
· Work senior stakeholders & wider Engineering teams to create well engineered products.
Key Requirements:
· At least 3 years of experience in software development.
· Demonstrated experience building world class consumer mobile applications (Android).
· Effective Leader with a hands-on approach.
· Excellent technical design skills.
· Strong technical UX, APIs & microservices experience.
· Experience with Swift & Objective-C
· Experience with consumer embedded/hardware highly regarded.
· Ability to write clean, well factored UI code and lead this culture through the teams.
· Implementing DevOps, CI/CD and automation along with modern software engineering best practices.
· Working experience with Github, Github Cloud, Github actions, Jenkins.
· Experience of security best practices.
