HR BUSINESS PARTNER – ATHLONE - CONTRACT
My client a multinational, GMP and Chemical Testing organisation, seeks to hire a new HR Business Partner to support two sites in Athlone. This is a standalone role, with no direct reports, reporting to an HR Manager. You will be responsible for providing the full spectrum of HR services to x2 sites. This is a full-time role, onsite for <6-months when technical competence is shown, afterwards reverting to a hybrid model. This will suit someone who has 2+ years at HRBP level. This is initial a 12-contract with a view to extension/permanency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Partnering:
· Provide support and advice to managers and supervisors, ensuring a proactive, pragmatic, quality HR service within the business partnership framework.
· Contribute to the on-going application and evolution of the business partnership approach as a way of managing the provision of an effective and professional HR service within the Company.
Employee Relations:
· Assist and advise line managers in dealing with departmental/team employee issues in relation to various areas (i.e. performance, absence, dignity at work, conduct and conflict).
· Provide advice on, and participate in, the application of the Company’s discipline and grievance procedures in their entirety, including Appeal meetings.
· Support Flexible Working request meetings, including complex or management structure requests.
· Participate in preparation for cases being brought before employment tribunals, representing the Company at such as and when required.
· Ensure the Company’s absence management policy is consistently applied.
· Co-ordinate the administrative aspects of the absence management policy, including the Absence review meeting, referrals to occupational health, contact with long-term absentees and facilitation of meetings with employees.
· Co-ordinate the administration of the employee exit process, follow up leavers feedback.
· Co-ordinate the administration of overseas assignments, letters, VISA correspondence etc. to ensure legal compliance.
· Ensure all documentation and communication relating to the internal processes are completed by all relevant parties and stored electronically on file.
· Manage employee engagement initiatives and activities, as required.
Projects:
· Contribute to or lead HR projects or processes as they arise in business partnership areas or as delegated.
· Contribute to and participate in employee involvement initiatives.
· Contribute to the facilitation of strategic organisational change as required.
· Continuously seek opportunities for improvement (and encourage same in others) and participate in new initiatives where relevant.
· Contribute to the development and subsequent roll-out and achievement of the annual business plan for the HR department.
Systems:
· Ensure that the computerised HR information systems are accurate and electronic personnel files are updated regularly. (E.g. Time Management System (TMS); PAMS; Trackwise).
· Validate and maintain HR systems to ensure all electronic information is accurate and consistent across all the systems.
· Manage the flow of TMS queries by executing issues throughout the team, and ensure all items are closed out.
· Ensure the efficient and effective recording and storing of pertinent information to ensure completeness of records and full traceability.
· Produce ad hoc and monthly reports on HR systems.
Policy & Procedures:
· Contribute to HR policy development and implementation, suggesting amendments to HR policy in line with developments in employment legislation and best practice.
· Contribute to the application of family friendly initiatives and policies.
Training:
· Liaise with the HR Development (HRD) team to coordinate and deliver at Induction.
· Contribute professionally to the briefing and/or training of employees and line managers in relation to HR policies and procedures and facilitate the delivery of HR clinics.
Recruitment:
· Liaise with the TA Team to support a professional recruitment and selection process.
· Participate in the recruitment process in its entirety as appropriate, including development of job descriptions, employee specifications, organograms; shortlisting; interviewing; and providing professional advice.
Payroll:
· Liaise with the Payroll team to coordinate queries as necessary.
General Duties:
· Keep up to date with and apply employment law relevant to all sites/teams’ jurisdictions and best practice throughout all areas of responsibility.
· Maintain confidentiality with all work undertaken.
· Assume responsibility for own continual professional development.
· Line Manager for HR Administration/Generalist (where applicable) & provide support, guidance and instruction as required.
· Manage workload effectively ensuring regular feedback and follow-up at all levels.
· Network and benchmark as appropriate with HR professionals in other organisations and with those in other sites.
· Travel and support activities in other sites, as and when required.
· Undertake other duties within the competency of the potholder as required.
REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
· CIPD Qualified - Desired
· ROI Employment Law Experience - Essential
· Previous experience of dealing with Trade Union officials
· Previous HR experience gained within a GMP environment operating shift pattern.
· Previous experience of delivering training in HR policies, procedures, and systems
· Application Form and documentary evidence
· Proficiency using MS Suite and HR Systems such as Hallmark PAMS and TMS such as Mitrefinch.
