Job Description

Senior Operational Analyst will work as part of the RESS project team and liaise with the other members of the Auction Design and Implementation Working Group

SKILLS

  • 5 years relevant technical experience SQL, VBA, and database structures, Tableau, Python,
    Excellent presentation skills
  • Third level qualification in Sustainable Energy Engineering, Energy Science, Data Analytics, Renewable Energy
  • Senior level operational management
  • Experience in utility, energy, telecoms sector
  • Demonstrate specifically how your insights improved processes with project examples
  • Effective communicator and excellent report writing capability
  • Experience of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment with a flexible approach
  • Strong working knowledge of Settlement aspects of the relevant codes/rule books, processes, procedures and systems is desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and quality orientation
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Experience working within a regulated business is desirable


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures compliance standards are met across the team
  • Manages quality control aspects for day to day, including automation of checklists
  • Design and Implementation Working Group meetings
  • Development of tools to assist with day to day operation
  • Supports the team lead in the coordination and management of RESS tasks and training of team members
  • Leader in assessing the technical qualification and auction outcomes
  • Prioritising solutions and making recommendations
  • Owns and leads projects or parts of larger initiatives and works with others to ensure projects meet deadlines and overall objectives
  • Plans and coordinates tasks and projects, assigning work to Operational Analysts
  • Analyses and presents external and internal data / analysis to identify important trends
  • Maintenance and development of the teams reporting systems including KPIs
  • Represents the team lead at functional system meetings
  • Coordinates and manages User Acceptance Testing for new system releases
  • Uses own initiative and knowledge to undertake complex analysis to troubleshoot operational issues and ensure that the right business solution is agreed and implemented
  • Supports the training and development of the Operational Analysts and supporting teams
  • Designs and develops tools to extract the necessary data to investigate queries
  • Liaises with third party vendors and internal teams, to coordinate change requests and manage system issues
  • Coordinates communications with RESS participants and manages queries in line with agreed timelines
  • Identifies common errors, educates staff, updates business processes, work instructions and training documentation where appropriate
  • Develops business processes to support day to day RESS & Auction
  • Reviews the data analysis work of the Operational Analysts
  • Knowledge of the I-SEM design and current SEM Trading & Settlement Code or Capacity Market Code.
  • Knowledge of wholesale power markets, market arrangements in Ireland, and in other European countries.

Remuneration: Competitive package negotiable and commensurate with experience.
