Our client are currently looking to hire a Senior Financial Accountant to join their team. Super opportunity to work with this well known Multinational.

Job Title:                               Senior Financial Accountant

Reporting to:                        Head of Finance

Overall Job Purpose


The Senior Financial Accountant works closely with the Head of Finance and is a key member of the Finance team in order to support the existing finance function by providing specialist services to the organisation, ensuring that the financial reporting requirements of the legal entities are met including all statutory, regulatory, taxation and internal reporting matters


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the completion of monthly management accounts & variance analysis reports with commentary
  • Cost Accounts: understand and apply cost allocation methodology according  to group requirements
  • Complete Corporate Financial & Statutory Reporting: monthly, quarterly & annually
  • Co-ordinate timely and accurate group reporting & align with group by having regular reviews to ensure consistency
  • Responsible for the completion of the Financial Statements for review by the Finance Manager
  • Oversee annual Statutory Audits
  • Manage the preparation and delivery of Corporation Tax returns
  • Annual budgeting: Consolidation of data received from the Controlling team. Responsible for the balance sheet calculations, co-ordinate group budgets, challenge numbers and ensure consistency & accuracy
  • Review VAT, VAT3 returns prior to filing
  • Regular review of correct taxation on employee incentives eg. vouchers & prizes
  • Drive compliance environment: create & update policies
  • PO system: drive further utilisation, replicate authorisation levels according to policy updates
  • Key oversight in any financial system upgrades/changes from design through to implementation
  • Review and improve processes to drive efficiencies and automation where possible
  • Responsible for InterCompany quarterly consolidation
  • Responsible for InterCompany contracts and transfer pricing documentation

  • Implement IFRS accounting requirements
  • Complete CSO Surveys – Annual Business Reports, Community Innovation, etc.
  • Act as a backup for Head of Finance. Foster a high level of morale among staff by effective motivation and communication within the team. 
  • Support Head of Finance in coaching and developing Junior Staff.


Essential Qualifications & Experience


  • Qualified Accountant
  • Strong knowledge of Irish GAAP, accounting principles and practices
  • 3+ years’ experience in Financial Accounting or Financial Analyst role in a Finance BPO or similar environment
  • Proven advance to proficient level in excel
  • Experience working with Senior and Middle Management
  • Experience with people’s management
  • Fluent in written and spoken English


Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • SAP accounting system
  • Understanding of Business Process Outsourcing industry
