Motor Damage Claims Handler 

Overview:

My client is hiring a number of claims handlers for their Motor Damage team based in South Dublin. No claims experience required but must be enthusiastic, driven and engaged. Insurance experience would be advantageous. They are offering fantastic benefits such as flexi-time and working from home option.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing a positive and reliable claims’ service to our customers, ensuring their cases and individual queries are dealt with efficiently and with empathy 
  • Proactively handle your own portfolio of both own damage and third party liability claims from notification to settlement, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met on each
  • Understand and apply relevant policy terms and conditions, communicating the Claims process and next steps to our first and third party customers
  • Appoint and manage assessors and other relevant service providers to accurately investigate and evaluate claims
  • Accurately records all customer interactions, transactions and decisions on our internal systems in accordance with our Company procedures
  • Manage any complaints received in accordance with the Central Bank regulations and the Company’s internal procedure
  • Comply with all Company quality standards and Central Bank regulations
  • Identify suspicious claims cases and escalate them to the Claims Special Investigations Unit
  • Ensure the Claims Recovery procedure is adhered to on any liability dispute/potential recovery case
  • Work closely with our Bodily Injury team to ensure potential injury claims are identified and dealt with appropriately
  • Evaluate invoices and draw/ approve payments as appropriate
  • Create strong working relationships with claims’ colleagues and external providers
  • Positively engage in coaching and development conversations to ensure you achieve agreed metrics in relation to settlement rate, calls answered, claims completions, etc

Key Requirements:

 

Essential:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience within a general insurance role
  • Experience in a Customer facing role, maintaining standard of quality whilst providing superior Customer Service

 

Desirable:

  • 2 years Experience in a Motor Claims Handling Customer facing role
  • Completed CIP or a relevant insurance qualification to meet MCC requirements
  • Relevant third level qualification
