About the Job:
As a Lead Engineer (known internally as Staff Engineer), you will directly contribute to our technical strategy, deliver some of the most innovative products in class, and collaborate with the best engineers in the industry. What You'll Do:
Drive technical projects to success and provide leadership in a fast-paced startup environment
Take responsibility for the overall planning, execution and success of strategic initiatives
Lead a team of diverse and talented software engineers (front end, back end and/or full stack)
Work closely with cross-functional teams such as Product, Analytics, Marketing, Creative, and Design
Contribute technically to projects by being a hands-on coder and removing roadblocks
Lead prioritisation efforts, plan future roadmaps, and provide mentorship to others
Deeply care about the happiness and careers of others

About you:
BA/BS in Computer Science, a related degree, or equivalent practical experience
Extensive professional experience in software development, working on robust, complex systems
Hands-on technical leadership and/or people management experience
A strong command of best practices, design patterns, and system architecture tradeoffs
A passion for bringing great products into our world through collaboration and ingenuity
Knowledge of various types of data stores, and their pros-and-cons
Experience with distributed system performance analysis and optimisation
Ability to understand, diagnose, and effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
Ability to handle ambiguous problems and make the tradeoffs without compromising quality
Experience in modern frameworks and design patterns (MVC, REST, React, Redux)
