Facilities Manager Building Services

Our client, a major exhibition centre in Dublin city, is also a renowned venue for trade shows and entertainment events. Our blue-chip client is seeking to recruit a Facilities Manager Building Services for its large property portfolio in the heart of Dublin. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the successful Facilities Manager Building Services, will probably be a degree qualified Engineer in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services or similar.

Job Purpose: 

The role will focus on ensuring appropriate infrastructure and facilities are available, in place and operating at optimum capacity to ensure minimum or zero interruptions to the business which operates 24/7.  The role will also involve the management of renewals, installations and refurbishment projects.

The Role:

Scoping, budgeting and procuring facilities maintenance contracts.

  • Managing and monitoring all utilities and facilities systems.
  • Taking a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Ensuring all building services are compliant, safe and operating effectively.
  • Managing external contractors and consultants.
  • Liaising with the many and diverse stakeholders.
  • Identifying energy-saving and implementing energy-saving measures.
  • Generating timely reports.
  • Developing project plans and project programmes for energy savings.
  • Project managing and delivering projects on time and within budgets.

To be considered for the role you must: 


Hold a Third Level (min L7) qualification in Engineering, Energy (or similar technical)

Have more than 4 years post graduate experience.

Have relevant facilities maintenance and management experience.

Have a pro-active approach to facilities maintenance.

Be familiar with and have knowledge of all utilities services / systems.

Have a proven successful track record of supervising and managing external contractors while performing refurbishment or installation projects.

Be competent liaising with Architects, Engineering and other external consultants.

Be confident and comfortable dealing with diverse stakeholders.

Be proficient in the English language (spoken, written, technical). 
Have strong communications, negotiation and influencing skills.

Be capable of multi-tasking, co-ordinating and delivering multi-projects.

Have a flexible approach to work and be available / willing to work outside of office hours on occasions when the business needs demands it.

Have an appreciation, understanding and strong working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.

Hold full driving licence and have own transport.

Be available to commence work in spring 2019.

 

 

Ideally you will: 


Hold a degree (L8) qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management (or similar)

Have Facilities Management experience in a modern commercial workplace / public environment.

Have a working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project.

Have strong time management and project management skills. 

Rewards:

Remuneration is negotiable depending on the qualifications, experiences, suitability and fit of the candidate. However, the ideal candidate can expect a salary up to c €65,000 pa.
