Technical Claims Specialist - Property and Liability 

Your main responsibilities:

  • Mange complex/high value claims
  • Taking FNOL over the phone 
  • Settlement/closure of claim
  • Meeting with customers, solicitors, attending court hearings
  • Following up on claim, liaising with 3rd party, providing updates on claims
  • Working in a team of 4 including a Claims Manager and Senior Handlers
  • Plan, prioritise and manage individual work to deliver agreed objectives and meet SLAs to deliver pre agreed technical results and excellent claims customer service to customers, brokers and claimants
  • Develop close and interdependent relationships with customers and brokers
  • Arrange and complete internal audits and contribute to external audits of suppliers, agreeing action plans for improvement and contributing towards the solution and monitor output
  • Identify complaints, act upon them and resolve in line with company policy and recommend relevant process improvements
  • Deputise for Claims Manager as required

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5-10 years experience high value and complex Liability and Property Claims from “cradle to grave”.
  • ACII qualified and/or Law Degree
  • Knowledge of legal requirements, regulations and litigation procedures within the Irish insurance industry
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Appropriate IT skills
  • Critical thinking skills (will be tested)
  • The ability to value personal injury claims of all levels.
  • The ability to provide guidance and advice to other members of staff and customers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to build and manage co-operative and productive relationships
  • Self-starter, able to manage own workload and multiple priorities.
