Assistant Accountant (12 month Fixed Term Contract)

Purpose
A fixed term contract position has arisen in the Local Financial Control department. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a busy accounts environment. Providing support in the accounts payable area/general accounting.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Funds
  • Assist in new fund set up with external administrators including set up and subsequent review of new fee schedules
  • Dealing with external administrators in relation to fund accounting matters
  • Running of fee accruals, invoicing and payments on Fund Fee Invoicing Module (GIML funds) and on Calculo (GIMS funds PLF) manually
  • Related variance analysis and query resolution
  • Maintenance of FFI Calculo including review of the standing data and new fund set up
  • Payment and recharging of fund expenses
  • Supervision of the operation of the fund expense control account in relation to the payment and recharging of fund expenses
  • Adhoc reporting
Corporate Accounting
  • Review of high volume multi currency bank accounts
  • Assisting with Accounts Receivable function and credit management
  • Assistance in preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Balance sheet account reconciliation and review
  • Ageing analysis of balance sheet items
  • Adhoc accounting
Qualification and Requirements
  • The successful candidate should have a least 1 years' experience working in a busy accounting office environment
  • Experience of the operation of an integrated accounting software package e.g. SAP, Sun etc.
  • Experience of MS Office applications particularly strong Excel skills
