Application Support Analyst

Joining an established IS team responsible for a large range of corporate and operational systems/applications the Application Support Analyst will have a thorough understanding of application support within a complex integrated systems environment. You will also have the ability to provide support and maintenance services for a range of existing and new applications and systems.

Main Responsibilities:
•To provide second and third line support of a wide range of applications.

 •Liaise with and manage support from external 3rd party suppliers and contractors, including participation in review meetings, contract reviews and SLA tracking and reporting;
•Call logging, prioritisation and tracking numerous issues of varying severity and effectively managing the resolution of all 3rd party supplied and in-house developed applications;
•Report on Group IS application support calls;
•Scheduling and co-ordinating system upgrades for both internally and externally provided systems in accordance with the Group Technology Roadmap;
•Assist in testing new applications and application changes;
•Meeting with users throughout the Group to determine requirements and discuss issues.

Essential
•Third Level Qualification in a Computer Science or IT related subject.
•Previous support role experience in a customer facing role.
•Excellent decision making skills and an ability to prioritise tasks.
•Demonstrated ability in documenting systems including writing technical specifications and design documents.

Desirable
•Experience of delivering support to systems within a regulated environment preferably the utilities sector.
•Working knowledge of change management.
•Working knowledge of SQL.
