Launch of BeProud

At the begging of 2017 we launched BeProud@Cpl. The aim of BeProud aim is to empower self-belief and confidence, and encourage everyone to bring their whole selves to work.

Since February we’ve done this through: building an environment of inclusivity with Random Acts of Kindness Week, sharing personal stories on national coming out day, our own Cpl sponsored bus at Gay Pride 2017 and a confidential professional support network.

Great Place To Work

Valentine’s day treats, an ice cream van on the hotter days of summer, fresh fruit on Mondays, concert and show ticket giveaways, the Cpl annual conference party, the Great Cpl Bake off in aid of charity, Christmas savings scheme, BOI banking services, weekly Pilates, free health screenings and our own Christmas market are just some of the things that made Cpl a Great Place to Work in 2017.

Resources for you

We work hard to ensure Cpl is a nice place to work and visit but we also wanted to improve how we help you this year. To help make your job hunt easier we launched a free Interview Handbook, the Cpl CV grader, threw a Christmas party for our temp workers, launched the Ardlinn Executive Awards to highlight Ireland’s best executives and began giving career advice via Facebook live.

Our recruiters have also won awards this year for their level of expertise, notably the entire Cpl Healthcare team who won Best in Practice at the NRF Awards.

Raising awarenss & volunteering

Raising awareness and volunteering is important to foster a sense of community and to aid changing lives for the better. Over the course of the year we’ve raised over €70,000 for various charities.

We’ve also hosted a number of charity days including Trick or Treat for Temple Street, Wear it Pink and Cpl Goes Blue. Cpl NI also recently took part out in a sleep-out which raised £4,335.62 for The Welcome Organisation who support homeless people in Belfast.

Increase in training & feedback

There’s always room for improvement so this year we’ve invested in lots of training. 118 of our managers undertook management training, 40 managers & directors took our 6-month leadership programme and continued monthly learning and development courses for everyone – from practical mindfulness and building emotional intelligence to perfecting client visits and social media branding.
