Cpl was proud to attain the Investors in Diversity Bronze Award in December 2020 from the Irish Centre for Diversity (ICFD) and we’re thrilled today to have been awarded the Silver Award. This is a diversity & inclusion mark for Irish businesses and Cpl is delighted to be recognised alongside many of our clients.

The ICFD provide companies with a framework that supports companies along the Diversity & Inclusion journey for continuous improvement. At Cpl, we recognise that diversity is about differences, seen and unseen and by creating an inclusive environment at Cp we improve the way we interact with each other, with our clients, candidates and our communities.

The focus of the Investors in Diversity Bronze Award was to review our policies and the ways in which we ensure that our employees understand diversity and inclusion. Achieving Investors in Diversity Bronze shows that Cpl has built a strong foundation that we can use as a platform to begin embedding Diversity and Inclusion into wider organisational systems.

Cpl is committed to our D&I journey and we're delighted to have now attained the Investors in Diversity Silver Award.

Diversity Silver measures the sense of fairness and belonging from our employees’ perspective and is designed to liberate the voice of our people and allow us to benchmark against other organisations whilst providing an overview of our key strengths and areas for development.

Some notable events from recent years that have helped boost our culture of inclusion include:

  • Ability day – We celebrated our 3rd annual Ability day on 3 December 2020. On this day we had inspirational speakers talk about the adversities that they face in their daily lives. Our speakers this year were John Cradden who discussed the Deaf Community, Jeanne McDonagh who discussed Mental Health, Ciaran McKinney who discussed Ageism and Damien Quinn who discussed Convictions.

  • BeProud LGBTQ+ Group – our BeProud committee continues to meet on a monthly basis, produce content to promote equality including a recent series for the transgender community and organise a variety of events for all to get involved. E.g. Quizzes, 5K, Bingo.

  • Unconscious Bias Training – Presented by our BeProud Chair Stephen Molloy providing us with a training session on conscious and unconscious bias.

  • Zevo Mental Health Champion Training - We hosted two Mental Health awareness Training sessions in 2020 bringing the total number of employees who are now accredited to 150.

  • EY Inclusive Leadership Training - This module was designed to support leaders in their people management to ensure all our people feel included.

Partnerships Externally:

  • Cpl is a founding member of the Open Doors Initiative which pledges to increase access in the labour market for marginalised groups.

  • Cpl is a proud business partner to the Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities (TCPID).

  • A selection of our employees works with Junior Achievement Ireland (JAI) to educate and mentor children in disadvantaged schools, inspiring them to continue schooling to their leaving cert and beyond.

  • The EPIC employment Programme works with immigrants and refugees and helps them integrate into society. Cpl has been supporting their valuable works since 2008 through our employees conducting interviews and providing feedback to interviewees.

Thank you to all our colleagues for making Cpl an inclusive place to work.
